  This rental is very nice and spacious. The property as at the top of a very large, steep hill that you can't get up with chains during the snow season. I saw trucks with 4 wheel drive make it up, but be prepared for that. Hot water doesn't last long. The amount of space is great though. Had a wonderful time.

  In general, it was fine but there were a few things...there were only 5 chairs instead of 6 at the dining table (we might get blamed that we took it), someone had put charcoal briquettes in a gas BBQ and we had to take them out or be accused of doing it, ran out of Cascade after 1 use, very little TP, owners could invest in a few more forks-- only enough for a meal and a half.

  It was fantastic to stay in Sierra Park1, even though there was no snow at that time. We enjoyed hiking and lake staking in Yosemite Park, just 2 hrs far off from there. The service and process for rental was smooth.

  It would have been nice to have a snow shovel and pick to help dig out the car, the neigbor over the road was kind enough to lend out his. Also a few more hooks to hang jackets would be nice 3 is not enought when you have a family of 6 skiing. We had a nice stay.

  The one reason why we keep on coming back to this place is because of the private sledding area. There is simply nothing that could come close to it, since it is long, smooth, safe, free, and not very crowded. The house is nice as well. Pretty spacious, kids friendly, and has everything we need. The rental company said we need to bring our own sheets, towels, and toilet paper, but they actually have all those for us to use, so we were quite pleased. The one thing that would prevent me from going back is the very steep hill leading to the house. Last winter when we went, the roads were icy, so our car was actually not able to make it up the hill even with cables on. So we ended up having to part at the bottom of the hill and walk up. We bought nicer chains this time to prepare for the hill, but the roads were not icy, so we did not get a chance to try them out. Our friend had a 4-wheel drive vehicle, so he actually had no problems. That's the one and only down side that I could think of.

• Everything was good, except no local phone service as per your description. So we had to drive down the mountain to use cell phones. Also, had to buy batteries because smoke dector was making noise and remotes were missing some batteries.

  Over all the place was great. We brought our cooking pan/pots plus chef knife, spatulas, etc. Simple instructions for the type of fireplace would be helpful. We look forward to renting the house again. We liked that it is a non-smoking and pet free rental.

  The house is very nice. However, we found a pair of underwear under one of the blankets. There were few paper goods in the house, including tissues or toilet paper. There were little notes on EVERYTHING. Very annoying. As if the owner was saying, look, we're not thrilled about renting our house, but since we are, here are a few (hundred)little notes.
  
  As for the area:
  There was a lot of snow, and the house is at the very back of the neighborhood on a shallow hill. The driveway was clear, but the street was not plowed. The prop. manager said they couldn't call in a plow for liability issues :O
  
  The plow that WAS supposed to be working the area broke down every day and only made it to our street on the last day. I had 4 wheel drive, but our friends did not. They had to have their van hauled out by AAA.

  We enjoyed our short stay in this cabin. There was plenty of room for four adults and two small children, and the furnishings were comfortable. The cabin is also well supplied with essentiels, a good thing because it is quite a trek down to the local store. We did not have a problem accessing the cabin, which is up a fairly steep hill, but in heavy snow, the access might be a problem. It is a very nice location for a summer stay, but in winter, you might need chains to get up that hill. That might not be for everybody. The cabin is in a nice friendly development and so overall, we had a great time. We would stay there again.

  We loved our stay at this cabin. It was spacious, clean, nice outdoor deck, and was next to a private sledding area. The only bad thing about it is that it is located on top of a fairly steep hill. When there is nice on the road, it was impossible for me to drive up there with cables on my tires. I will try chains next time to see if I have better luck. Other than that, the place was just awesome!

  The home was beautiful but there were cob webs everywhere. Overall the stay was wonderful but there were 2 main items that were concerning. #1 the directions from Twain Harte to the property. The location of this property is very confusing and took us 1 hour to find from Twain Harte. The map is not very good and the streets are confusing once you get to Sierra Park. It was dark and not lit and difficult. After reading the guest book at the house we weren't the only guests who thought the directions were less than desirable. Number 2 a deposit was left in cash in advance why did we not have access to the phone? None of our cell phones worked in this area and we had 2 guests coming up later on and were not able to give them directions. They did not make it until Saturday when we left the property and went and called from a pay phone. Most people today do not have calling cards because most people carry cell phones. The fact that there is no service up there left us stranded. They should be very clear regarding the communication available and allow you to either leave a larger deposit for the phone, leave a credit card etc. Thank you.

  I was very disappointed by the reservations person who told me that it was closer to Pinecrest than it was. I was lead to believe it was within 5 miles when in fact it was about 12 miles and to travel back and forth twice a day added up with time and mileage. I was reimbursed part of my cleaning deposit because we were unhappy.
